What is being talked about this subject? What examples are already popular. I am sure SAP, Oracle, and the big players are aware of this. But what about the Open Source Community?
What is the name for such a framework or system? I guess it should be something like EIS (Enterprise Information Systems), or something like that.
Wikipedia's definition of EIS is quite vague for the term, so I think it could easily be adapted.
I would like to name it, to facilitate the discussion.

Come to think of it and you realize that all these business solutions are targeted towards making profit. As unique and as distinct as they might seem to you, they actually are subsets of a bigger set and merge at various places to give you the perfect solution. Either it is about managing funds of your business, using sophisticated tools to predict future demands by studying buying trends of consumers, etc. they all have one thing in common, profit for your business which ensures fatter salaries for employees and growth of your business. And as far as an open source solution is concerned I am sure there are developers who are already working on it. But having said that, it is an enormous task to come up with an open source tool which combines all the above discussed approaches or tools such as ERP, CRM, SCM, BI, etc. Hoping for a free world tomorrow, cheers!!!
